My psp sat in a drawer for months, dead, due to the screen being cracked. It worked fine aside from the half-destroyed screen. I bought a new screen and installed it right away without testing to see if the psp still worked. I turned it on and the screen doesn’t light up or anything, I just hear the startup sound then nothing, the green power light stays on though. I don’t hear anything when I hit the d-pad so I think there’s something wrong with something other than the screen. I put the old screen back in and the same thing happens. I replaced the screen before with no issues like this. I made sure all the screws were tight and that the lcd ribbons were secure.

I searched around the web to try and find someone with the same symptoms but no luck.
If it is bricked then will a pandora battery fix it?

Good to hear it’s not bricked but I’ve double and triple checked the ribbon connections and I’m sure that’s not it but I’ll give it another go anyways.

If it’s not the ribbons then what may it be? And what were the three ways to recover it you mentioned?

Oh and I forgot to mention it’s the 1001 “fat” model

Ok found what was wrong, one of the metal pins on the backlight ribbon got pushed out when I put the new screen in. Unfortunately even after sliding it back the screen is still dead, I’m sure it would need to be miraculously soldered back by tiny psp fairies, so, off to the pawn shop to find a psp with a broken screen that otherwise works I guess. Thanks guys.

Hello, I have a psp 2000 ice silver from the daxter pack. I know it’s not a TA-088 V3 motherboard because I had successfully gotten it from ofw 6.20 to cfw 5.50 gen d3. I had tested a few games and everything worked. I saw the VSH menu when I pressed select and was curious so I pressed make pandora battery. I left it for a few minutes forgetting I had selected make pandora battery. When I came back, (the battery was fine) there was a black screen and the green light was on. I have pressed the screen brightness button many times, held it down for 10 seconds, and nothing. I tried turning it off by holding the power button for over 1 minute. Nothing. I finally took the battery out and put it back in. Immediately, the green light came on and still a black screen. I don’t know if it’s bricked but have ordered a pandora battery which will be here in about 2 weeks. Please advise.

I have an original 1000 series PSP and rather not buy a pandora battery, install a custom firmware, downgrade to another version or anything like that. Am I going to have to anyways? Are there any other programs like CW Cheat for PSP? Please tell me any options you can think of, I appreciate any help you can offer.

I have a refurbished PSP 3001 with OFW 6.35 and a Sony memory stick PRO Duo Mark 2. My IMac v10.6.6 will not connect to my PSPs memory card. I’ve tried all USB ports, a hard reset on the PSP, battery pull, setting USB Charge to off, auto connect on and off, formatted memory stick, tried it with and without memory stick, and i still get a message of “Please wait…” for more than several minutes. I hope it is not a hardware problem, but if so, is it better to by a new PSP or fix the problem myself.

i made the pandora battery and have the magic memory stick but when ever i put the magic memory stick with the pandora battery my psp slim turns off and the menu doesnt show up plz help me
